Lisa Dimitri

LCSW

Hello and welcome to South Shore Counseling!

I’m Lisa Dimitri, LCSW, and I’m the co-owner of South Shore Counseling. I’m so glad you’re here. Taking that first step to reach out for support can feel hard — but it’s also one of the most meaningful things you can do for yourself.

I’ve been a therapist for 29 years and truly love helping people reconnect with their authentic selves. My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. Whether you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or navigating relationship or life transitions, I’ll meet you where you are and help guide you toward healing and growth.

In my work, I often incorporate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful and evidence-based approach that helps people heal from painful or distressing experiences. While EMDR is well known for treating trauma, it’s also incredibly effective for many other issues — such as anxiety, self-esteem struggles, grief, or that feeling of being “stuck” despite your best efforts to move forward. I find it to be one of the most transformative tools for helping clients release what’s been holding them back and move toward greater peace and confidence.

In addition to my private practice work, I’ve spent over two decades in school settings, supporting children, teens, and families through challenges like school refusal, social and test anxiety, peer conflict, ADHD, and learning differences. That experience has given me a deep understanding of how family dynamics, school pressures, and emotional well-being are all connected.

Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors — especially at the beach, gardening, or going for walks with my dog. I also cherish time with my family and the moments that bring calm and connection.

If you’re ready to take the next step toward healing or simply want to feel more like yourself again, I’d be honored to walk alongside you on that journey.
